ECOfaith

ISSB is committed to encouraging environmentally sustainable lifestyles, in accordance with the instructions of Islam and good conscience that we act as responsible stewards in caring for this beautiful world entrusted to us. For this reason ISSB works closely with ECOFaith in Santa Barbara to educate our community.

Some of our recent projects include:

• growing vegetables in a community garden adjacent to Grace Lutheran Church, where volunteers removed grass, lined beds with wire mesh and  cardboard, filled beds with soil and mulch, and planted, watered, weeded, and harvested our bounty
•  visiting the local farm Fairview Gardens and enjoying a picnic near the fields
•  making pinecone birdfeeders at a community picnic
