Community Service

Santa Barbara is our home. Therefore, Santa Barbara residents are our family. For this reason, ISSB cares deeply about the condition of our local brothers and sisters.

The Prophet Muhammad instructed his companions to “give food to the hungry” and “pay a visit to the sick,” and these are special tasks which we are humbled to perform. Every third Wednesday of the month, we gather at Pershing Park to serve dinner to our displaced “neighbors without homes.” When we hear news of a family member or friend who is unwell or in the hospital, we make an effort to spend time with them to cheer their spirits.
