the virtual home for the Santa Barbara, CA Muslim community

Events

ISSB hosts regular social activities as opportunities to build friendships among community members as we relax and enjoy each other's company. We welcome everyone at these activities, so regardless of your religious or cultural background, please come join us for potlucks or picnics.

With gratitude we offer delicious, homemade, and halaal lunches for sale after the Friday congregational prayers. Usually comprised of rice, meat, vegetables, and a drink, the proceeds from the sale of the Jumu’a Lunch Program support ISSB’s day-to-day operations.

We are also humbled to invite scholars in various fields to address our community on topics in their areas of expertise, and these special events are often accompanied by dinners at our community center. Recent guests include Sh. Alaeddin El-Bakri, Imam Zaid Shakir, and Sh. Junaid Kharsany.

Finally, our mothers, daughters, and other sisters occasionally get together for athletic, educational, and social activities in public and private settings.

To keep aware of all our event scheduling, please see our Calendar, or subscribe to our mailing list here.
